"Sisyphus: The Myth" puts time travel in the corner

Honestly not sure how to review this. This might be the show that makes me put time travel in the corner for bad behavior. It wasn't the dark time travel show that the posters eluded to and I was okay with that. The humor and lightness was balanced by the action scenes. I know there were complaints about the CGI but that never bothered me. It's not a big budget movie.
I found the male lead, Jo Seung Woo, delightful. He was this brilliant genius but in the face of personal danger kinda turned into a whiny baby and that juxtaposition was fun to watch. Park Shin Hye does action well. I've seen criticism for her emotional side of acting and I didn't find her lacking in this. The character is a woman that grew up in a fragmented world essentially alone, her social skills and reactions to things aren't to be the norm.
Jim Byung Chul was stellar as evil even if I didn't really believe he was sooo perfect to devise all this without the other genius of Tae Sul catching on. In the end, he wasn't. Or was he? The end...more on that later. Sung Dong Il as usual knocked it out of the park. He can portray the greatest dad in the world and the most messed up of characters and I believe them both.
I was with the story up until about 14/15. The waste of the character of Sun. The waste of the character of the cop who joined the Control Bureau. The too perfect villain. This is a drama that I think would have been better served by 12 episodes. It just got a bit too drawn out that it lost you.
FINALE
The finale did nothing to make me feel better. Here comes Eddy Kim who apparently harbored such resentment for his friend for so long, even though I think it was breaking up with Seo Jin that pushed him over the edge, that he decided he wanted his entire life. He should have been shown to be the big evil all along because frankly it would have meant more. And wouldn't have Sung Dong Il character have the memories of that day that his younger self didn't actually kill his wife?
Three incarnations of Seo Hae in the same world? Two of Tae Sul? And no ramifications? No paradox? And which Tae Sul died? And which Seo Hae? Or did they not die? Cause I'm pretty sure present future Tae Sul died. And Seo Hae evaporated. The present versions of themselves? What the heck am I even saying?? WHO THE HECK KNOWS!? And the plane version of Seo Hae if there was no uploader? Was he imagining her in Heaven?? Or did he miraculously live? And by refusing to take the meds he will continue to imagine her?? And no brother reunion? It ended it such a way that some might think Season Two and I'm like no, let's just let it die here. In the corner.
I should not have this many questions.
All in all...good acting. Too drawn out a plot that got really convoluted at the end with a ending that to me didn't make much sense but maybe that's just me. So congrats to Sisyphus, you have now caused me to avoid time travel shows for the foreseeable future cause my luck has not been good with them.
I give it a B solely for the acting alone cause everything else in me really wants to give it a B-.
