Fight for My Way

A twitter mate described this as a cozy drama. I can't disagree when it comes to the lead couple. Park Seo Joon and Kim Ji Won were adorable as friends to lovers. Dongman was a sweet, albeit a little simple-minded type guy. He was always ready to fight for any injustice that Ae Ra might have had happened to her. Ae Ra had what they used to call gumption in spades and could take care of herself though. She never cowered with Dongman and refreshingly told the truth. Both had dreams of becoming something they weren't and both fulfilled them in ways they didn't initially anticipate. I think I was happiest about Ae Ra finding her major league type dream. She worked so hard and just kept getting knocked down through devices such as ageism, lack of experience and an egotistical female reporter. Sometimes our dreams manifest in surprising ways.

I always enjoy Park Seo Joon and I adored Kim Ji Won in Descendants of the Sun. I'm excited she and Ji Chang Wook will be in a drama together soon!

As much as I liked the lead couple, I really didn't care much for the second lead couple. I muttered several times, just break up already. I wasn't surprised they got back together but I really in the end just didn't care. I was glad that Seol-hee was able to get out of her shell a bit and find herself and her passion.

There were some things that I didn't care for- the brutal fight scenes. I'm just not a fan of fighting like that. I didn't care for Dongman's ex-girlfriend. I'm really tired of the entitled exes plot lines.

Things that could have been done better: Ae Ra finding her mother was an after thought. Dongman's sister and that relationship could have been given more time to develop. She was mentioned and then a scene of her profile once and then she popped up at the end to make him reconsider his life. I felt there needed more of an established on screen relationship to be able to believe her words were that powerful.

Overall, it was a good drama. I rank it 3/5. Enjoyable but not groundbreaking.
